This wouldn't 'require' it at all, and the fact that most people would not want to do it would make it actually better.
The idea is that all of the lesser tasks that larpers and noobs do way more regularly than vets would be something that would net them trophies, rewards and potentially higher value trading items.
Nothing about any part of the grind in this game is fun, but almost all of the high level grind like wasting tons of time and effort to find and kill whales is actually very rewarding but completely out of reach for most players.
So why not make menial and approachable tasks like killing foxes have some rewarding outcome?
Pair this with the fact that it's a brainless longterm task you can do throughout a world, it might keep some people active for longer.
There is not a single situation where this wouldn't benefit the gameplay.
