What you don't understand is that the palisade is not the security issue, unless you used normal gates instead of visitor gates, and allowed a full pass through your base via normal gates.

All palisades are openable with criminal skills, keyed or unkeyed. You just need the key to actually make the locked ones open-open. Opening a visitor gate does absolutely fuck all to jeopardize a claim unless you have a way to lose visitor status inside.

Yes, I know. The problem is you can get around all issues with simply making a second palisade.
If I have two unkeyed visitor gates, and I close the interior one, that prevents people from walking inside. Whether or not they can do anything while inside is not the problem I have here.
A single gate does not. This is why i'm saying the design is bad.
If simply building a second gate fixes your design, then gates are designed badly.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

If that's what you want to discuss, I recommend just adding your two cents to my thread 'Palisade key system hassle' which is about how being required to lock your walls in specific ways and then carry a specific key with you (that, if proper security is used, is useless to anyone else who gets their hands on it) results in unfun gameplay.

You opened this thread with 'I got griefed because my shitty security setup', so this thread has been about your shitty security setup since.

Well, it turned out nothing happened and I explained that, so it's weird that it's still on that.

As apposed to what? Carrying keys around with you? Visitor gate's are great base security given the current lock and bolt system we have to work with.

Probably logged out next to the cave, after dropping visitor.
Bi directional gate keys that can't override the lock would be a simple fix, I believe it's been suggested since forever.

No, you aren't supposed to be able to log in at all *visitor debuff or not*, on another claim.

Unless, you've changed the permissions of your claim to allow trespassing to white, which is everyone you haven't seen as well as those you've set to white

I thought stick fence was there mainly to stop wild animals from entering. I once left them open and someone brought a bear inside and killed and looted my farming bot :(
