To prevent the cart from getting stuck, make the path wider. It's already difficult to fit through a one-tile-wide passage.

Not bad option would be a "rollback" function. If no one interacts with it, it rolls back a short distance.
However, those who get stuck will still end up in a situation where the cart is stuck, unable to move forward or backward.

The best option is to interact more closely with the cart. Right now, you need to move a couple of meters away from it to make it follow you. Or turn. Ideally, you and the cart become one, like a horse. This will make it easier to turn or make final turns in tight spaces.

Imagine allowing Hearthling to board the cart and get off the cart, like with wagon and chairs/benches.

Now why would you want a hearthling carting around 6 other hearthlings?

Although this is not related to the topic, it would be fun. One on a horse carries a cart with 6 farmers or miners to work.

A possible option is the “climb over the cart” function - go right through if no one interacts with the cart.
Or with the animation of how he climbs on and off the cart (but this is more difficult and does not seem to be profitable)

Although this could be abused. Use it to dodge attacks or hide by walking back and forth through the cart. You could, of course, stipulate that no one else is using the cart and that the character isn't in combat, but that adds unnecessary complications. It's easier to have closer control of the cart to increase its maneuverability.

The ability to push a cart can also be used for sabotage. When you're dragging it, it's difficult to block someone. But if you're pushing it, it's easy. Especially if there are multiple carts.
Although this is realistic - in the past, carts were often used to block the road.
