Well if you guys are desperate for an even playing field, stop using the custom clients that give you a greater advantage over others. Or release them/share the features.

no and still all he's done to me was take a bite of my ass while I was carrying a boat, it's not some decisive victory to have le bigger number. I'm frequently outstatted, it means nothing.

it's still just 1 guy, there will always be some guy going nuclear with his stats in any mmo. if there's an environment that people can raise a number, a small handful will always pump that shit into the sky for no real reason at all. The bulk have normal ass stats a hermit could get.

The issue lies with the client itself and has been that way since vanilla, everyone has a custom one because the default isn't usable/will get you killed almost deliberately. Every client has ctrl+h, ctrl+n and a drink button and that's all you need. There's not much to it. Besides those settings, there's not much to it besides the actual fighting and running part.

That's not true at all. One example that comes to mind is being able to see the opponents cooldown (assuming what happens here is the agility is being calculated based on the attack in order to determine a cooldown) which of course gives the very obvious advantage of a visual representation for when the opponent is on cooldown making it simple to time a counter-attack. These clients go beyond the simple hiding and flattening of the environment.

Hilarious that you folks whine about grind yet when it'd make it more equal playing field you're against it.

Literally noone from at least my group cares about their stats and only eat so they don't get outstatted and I'd love if it didn't require all the autism to get the stats.

I'm not telling myself or anyone else that it's impossible to compete, I am simply pointing out that those who participate most in pvp have very clear advantages that others do not and to say such features don't provide them with a better chance at winning is illogical. If someone can see when I'm on CD and for how long, but I cannot see theirs, that does give them an edge over me in combat and it is not only the cooldowns that are being visually represented.

To be fair I once said that client doesn't matter at all but I've changed my mind since, it does help a lot (but it's still possible to fight back and win, if you've got the skill and a working client that lets you do the most basic things) though sharing the clients is an impossible thing to do considering all the work people making clients put into them just for some retard from other faction or w/e to use it all against them. It's just not worth working on anything if you have to share that shit.

right the comment I made was mostly in jest, I don't have any illusions of stuff like that being shared lol

The people responsible for improving combat are of course the devs and they should be looking at additions such as those that client creators are requested to implement so that they have a general idea of how they should be improving mechanics and client features themselves. However, it does raise the question of what they would or would not be willing to include. For instance, is being able to see when someone is on cooldown really something they intended to happen in this iteration of combat? Would adding that for everyone make combat better or worse overall? What changes would need to be made in order for such additions/quality of life changes to implemented? and so forth.
