At least in theory, the playstyle of "destroy snail" also becomes much more viable as it won't take 50 minutes of sailing a Snekkja to get to him.

I think the most practical way to implement this, if it was desirable, would be to generate the world with favourable terrain in a central strip, and inhospitably rugged/cold/arid terrain on either side. The former would contain most of the fertile land and waterways, the latter pockets of rare resources with wide swaths of 'wasteland' that aren't of interest to large factions. Factions would have an incentive to compete for lands in the centre of the map, build or trade with outposts on the fringes, and leave the rest of the map alone, since the other areas would be too daunting and unrewarding for them to travel through.

There were non-central spawns this world, so ye you can't fuck off. That's the point.

If there were a central spawn I could stay in the populated zone, and you could leave. We could both get what we want.
