Change sleds/skiis and 4th speed in winter

If we had a magical melt mechanic why not work like any other heat source and melt in an area (snow and/or ice)

Because it's magic? The magical horse-panic shout doesn't scare off any other animals either, not even bunnies.

By all means ignore ice, leave us with the same issue of sleds on ice chasing ppl down at mach-spruce-speed.

Enlighten me how an attacker on ice is going to chase down a defender running away over land.

wouldnt that just make people not use sleds and skis altogether?
if we compare it to horses, there is basically no combat with horses,
if you are getting attacked while on an horse, you practically loose your life at the same time you get into aggro range,

i know multiple hermits that dont use horses for fear of that, best case scenario, you leave and loose the horse, if you get rawhided snail dances around your body yelling skill issue

and nabs have indeed difficultys staying out of rawhide range,

Give Kicksled horrible tank controls or something so you can't maneuverer with it, just move in a straight line?

i mean, pvp aside i like the winter gameplay, it makes sence that you are bogged down in snow, and you need aid to move around efficently,
hunting hermine in an gooschase on an sled is actually kinda funny,
only problem is that in the 5 days winter, barely half the map snows over, so you are either stuck in the snow, or stuck on land carrying or pushing the sled.
