I think winter is cool, but maybe all seasons are too long? On top of that, what about 2 to 3 winter crops? Crops that grow in winter? IRL there's winter crops. Just that in winter so many game elements shut down is not good. It should be a change, not a shutdown. Right now, I can't farm at all, I can't get my bugs that I need for credo. I can barely use rivers with my boat. I can't get more wax for hardened leather for more mining holes. Everything shuts down. It is fine that come things shut down, but they should be replaced by some new things. Right now, non-winter is just many magnitudes better than winter. Do the devs want us to stop playing because of winter? OR is there a design idea? Considering the effort placed in adding seasons to the game, why do this?

Wait, if you put a different type of bed, suddenly you can farm? I guess that helps, but lol that doesn't really make sense. Even knowing that 'mound beds' exist, but not knowing what they do, I wouldn't have guessed.

Maybe it should make more sense, lore-wise? Thanks forum & wiki, I guess...

I believe a season related quest model would help players to discover mound beds. (I really feel 50% of sprucecaps dont have a clue about mound beds).

TBH There should be a quest model for other things as well such as creating a claim, building a palisade around it, building your first minehole , picking a profession etc.

There's almost no limit to how much you could rework stuff, but could we at least have these two minor fixes before next winter? They would (to my understanding) be objective improvements:

1) Meteorites now melt up to a minimap's worth of snow around them as they cool down. (Remove sleds from Meteorite fights, at least.)

2) Snowfall and water freeze start during latter parts of Autumn, so that by the time winter arrives, snow/ice already covers everything. During Autumn, any active claim prevents snowfall/freeze within the area it covers.

I must admit I like first winter - I'm still not lazy to craft 2 cupboards of snowglobes and catch a cupboard of whirling snowflakes, and it's yet not shit comparing to other crafted curiosities.
Though I still on the side of making seasons regional.

I liked winter before, there are so much things to do, and it makes the farming credo so much easier to get.

But now that clowns are crying it feels even better. Please make it last thrice as long.
