MY ONLY ISSUE here is all the sweats who love pvp play the game literally 18+ hours a day. Not really anything you can do about it unless you are also willing to put in the time. Can this game be your life? then enjoy. If not? Don't even dream of being competitive or more than a scrub(you might think you are, but you are just being delusional)

J&L don't understand how bad of an idea vertical progression in a permadeath PvP game is.

We are 15 days into W16. Non-bot players can't even begin to comprehend how behind they are.

Even without them, most of the experienced players and especially the pvp oriented factions reach a point where they are "pvp ready" at a comically early stage of a world in comparison to the majority of other players. They are rolling out in their snekkjas with hussar wings and bronze swords descending upon sprucecaps like androids to cavemen.

trying to get into the headspace and mental gymnastics of being that cringe of a person, literally can't.

It's a game that sociopaths gravitate too because you can wield power over others through time in a sandbox. This is well known over the years.

classic example: If anyone knows who Painhurtz is, dude tried to track me down IRL with his grown sons after killing him in Salem...was quite the saga

headspace very very simple - same as any other competitive pvp game - its fun to compete and win and watch your victims write essays on forum about how they simply cant compete because of ""bots"" or some shit

theres not many games where the losers are this cringe and whiny so it makes it more fun

I think Im on the most popular pvp client it has 4 things in the 'bots' section "tar kiln empty bot" "turnip bot" "cleanup bot" "ocean scout bot" Ive used 1 of them, I dont even know what the others do lol fuck I guess I cant "begin to comprehend" how behind I am rn

I have to admit in terms of barrier to entry theres not any other sandbox pvp game this 'easy' in terms of just how competitive it is. I ate shit for months to get good at rust, literally couldnt even get a base down in my first dozen wipes. Same for ark and many others where the players are just way more serious and organized. Something about haven seems to attract very misguided people into thinking its not a pvp game idk why its confusing to me, maybe its the quaint graphics and relaxing vibe in the trailer or soemthing

You're confusing "bypass" with "disable". Murderous Rage DISABLES your KO protection, but potentially allows you to BYPASS other people's KO protection by hitting for so much damage they die before they can get KO'd. This is intended behavior, that's easily proven by the fact it gives 20% bonus grievous damage. That's the ONLY REASON to give it that. If you don't kill someone, grievous damage didn't ultimately matter because wounds don't matter unless you're a spruce cap. But the 20% is a very specifically designed amount because it specifically gives you just enough leeway to kill someone if you want to. PvPers aren't using murderous rage to give their opponent another Blade Kiss, they're using it for the chance to KILL THEM.

Sephiron wrote:The issue is that haven doesn't have Stat limits

The problem is not lack of stat caps, stat caps are awful and stupid. The problem is the fact you can kill tons of people, easily, with zero chance of repercussion whatsoever.
Total misplay.

It's about bots, other clients, and severe autism.

lol, all of those other pvp games pale in comparison to how much time and effort is required to build up a character/characters and the associated industry required in that process. You're also not taking the size of the worlds into consideration, how long does it take to cross a map in Rust compared to how long does it take to cross a map in Haven & Hearth (If you can even cross the map without running into deep ocean and requiring a snekkja/knarr to continue).

In terms of barrier to entry, there's not any other sandbox pvp game this difficult and time consuming when it comes to player progression. Why do you think bots are so prevalent? Don't even get me started on custom clients, like if I want to play the game with mountains as they should be, why should I be at a disadvantage in pvp for that simply because I'm not flattening the entire world or turning every object into a 2d bounding box? There are so many factors that go beyond the simple nature of "player vs player combat" which do in fact affect pvp in this game.

Everything you do is considered a pvp action, from standing around and occupying space, chopping trees, chipping rocks, to setting down a claim and building structures, and so on. Each time someone reduces the need for them to perform any of these actions manually either through the use of bots or custom client features, they are gaining an advantage in pvp.
