You have no respect for the time and effort involved. This is a huge project, and we are stretched as it is.

is there no one you trust to police for bots ??? someone anonymous to act as the hammer of the gods.
https://strawpoll.com/xh2d3zr2 if you give a fuck about mining vote on this. Make mining great again! Bring back old supports.

I like the direction this comment is heading, while the exact terms mentioned certainly need further thought:

Characters lifetimes being not unlimited by definition (like the human condition having a guaranteed 100% fatality rate) would give different, and most likely interesting, incentives compared to the ones we have with the current setting.

i dont like the direction it is heading cause the ones with better developed characters will lose more than ones with worthless characters and such thing is obviously unfair

if u want to get rid of bots then find an idea which nerfs em without touching ones who dont bot

They are working on making the game more fun and enjoyable as is. Should that slowly cut down botters a bit? I never botted then hell a few games acted like I was a bot since how much I could play lol.

Real-time aging is unappealing because people spend long stretches of time without playing. Skill-based aging is better. I've suggested before that we have a new set end-game skills that give unique bonuses and crafting recipes, but which also come with penalties that emulate aging. So it'd be voluntary.

And aging is not unfair, we're just too spoiled as a community. We got used to being immortal and everything that deviates from that is labeled "unfun".
Crusader kings is an example of the opposite system: stat grinding is a major part of the game, and we only play for about 30 years with any given char before they die. It makes the game much more meaningful and you're much more willing to do risky stuff (instead of the crusader kings equivalent of sitting inside a wall chain studying curios).

Yeah, but you might at least deal out something more than a slap on the wrist when you do punish people for botting.

Policing bots is a futile battle.
The four most popular and useful bots: harvest-and-replant, mussel/glimer/edelweis/cave clay/etc forager, area miner (why this one is not in the default client is mystery...), and movement recorder.
The only reliable way to catch those is to log interaction timings. Which can be easily counteracted with some randomization.

Just add a better farming system. E.g. flower menu option to "harvest and replant" once the inventory gets full and drink water if out of stamina.
Add shift click to select mining area.
Foraging automation is reducible to an extent by introducing relevant hostile animals.

Yes, policing is an unending work. What isn't futile is banning alts.

I agree. I have never liked the alt-ing system and personally try to play with mostly a single character now. But it's a different issue albeit somewhat related.

tbh you either have some weird logic or just don't see that it can take 500 feps from one person and just 5 from another one and put em to the same level even tho one has put more effort for progress and if such thing is implemented curio and feps will be worthless
