or maybe they simply (we, actually) don't like the playstyle you propose and adopt for yourself.

You can be stubborn, determined like me or whatever, but don't expect everyone to do so. I saw people having enough patience to start from over couple of times, but, dying again and again meaningless to some guy just because He can, drove them off to other games. Yes, if You forgot, other games exists.

Salem KO System

Postby linkfanpc » Thu Jul 27, 2017 2:52 am

Seeing as this has been a thing for some time now and everyone has a opinion on it, i thought i'd discuss it.

NO, PLEASE NO!

Okay, yes, i understand it was done to make people less scared, to give people a chance to leave their walls. But i really can't bring myself to like this.

The main selling point of this game is how dangerous the world is, how easy it is to die. And that's why i loved it! Constantly fearing death, treading lightly, carefully watching for hostile wildlife, listening for human footsteps! It kept you on your toes! Now all that's gone. It's literally now impossible to die, unless someone is raiding you, and camps at your HF. If someone manages to beat me in combat, i want my life to be in their hands. If i beat someone, i want THEIR life to be in MY hands. That's why this game was so great! The adrenaline rush! Swords clashing, you literally fighting for your life! Now it's just "oh no u got me lol OH NO NOT MY PANTS!".

And about people leaving their walls, well, did it really work? All the big factions never leave their walls anyway except to hunt people down for various reasons, the only people benefiting from this is casual nabs. But that's the thing, everyone i know who was more casual like me ALREADY left their walls before! Everyone i met, was because i met them in my travels (While they were also exploring.) or they found me while i was busy in my base. This new system really didn't help anyone much, at least in my eyes. All it did was make combat and exploration much less fun.

But hey, that's just my thoughts.
Total misplay.

Yeah I agree with you ... it was much more meaningfull before, but also i see why devs did that ... it would be cool something in between, idk ... something like if you are a warrior you have always to fight for your life, otherwise if you are not a warrior you should have more chances to outrun your enemy ... i mean all those armors and weapons have a weight :D ... but hard stuff to accomplish and to code properly.

Ah...that may eventually be interesting...thou the combat system here will bring ppl to go around just w/o armor so they can get to their prey and kill them.
I won't cry at all for ppl not be able to kill at leisure just because they started the server before others and rushed as much as they could.

Doesnt really matter, if you die over and over again you should probably do a few things differently. Other games do exist, but that's beside the point

Yeah i was meaning that with hard to accomplish or to code properly ...
Also stealth could be a thing ... something like you can hide behind trees and stuff, and if you have no big weapons or armors you are more stealthy ..... but same route than before.

I like it better this way. It was no fun to die and go back to gathering q5 sticks. I knew quite a few people who quit the game after losing their character. It was particularly frustrating for people who played alone or with a small group because if your place was raided, you had no easy way of getting your new character's stats back up and you had to start from scratch. If you like permadeath, play legacy H&H.
