Your suggested "fix" is inherently flawed and just brings another "alt-away the tedium" mechanic that doesn't really fix anything except screwing the noobs that don't know any better.

i agree with this, its not like claim are super hard to maintain just should not be able to maintain if have not been there for months

And if this was changed? Would this still be a good idea? I don't think so, and I don't think you'd see it any other way either if I've gotten to know you from the forums here at all. People would still use an otherwise useless alt to do the same thing just for convenience.

The whole "LP bank" was gotten rid of, which made overly massive, useless claims pointless. Now if a claim is massive, it ideally serves a point, so if a player wants to maintain it, I guess that's their right (unless devs want to flat restrict claim size). Additional claims are a great addition, and they need to be maintained, so they do go away.

I'd like to see some statistics about how much this is being abused before I'd even say that such a mechanic needs to be implemented. Compare it to how much the mechanic is being put to some reasonable use and not just trying to block the rest of the world from enjoying the open-worldness of the game.

I quite agree. I know not everyone is willing to leave vandal scents, but if the claim really isn't checked often, then there's little risk, and even a wrecking ball would be safe (because people aren't willing to leave vandal scents...).

If you hate claims so much, just make a palisade with a claim + alt with vandalism. Any ways, if you are spotted, then the claim is being used.

From what I remember, at this stage of the game anyone who can chase sits in 4 walls eating cheese or fighting other factions. It might be someone with minor character/experience or koreans chasing, but they're easy to kite.
