You live in a fantasy world if you really believe that big factions only care about loot from raiding, it's not about the loot, it has always been about causing someone else pain, you are a fool to think otherwise.

You misunderstood lol, that's my point exactly that it's not about loot indeed. It's not about causing pain necessarily it's about competition between factions and the cost of war that comes with it

I never said larger group should care about small groups you misunderstand. I am suggesting you to find another way out of dealing with this political war against clans other than buffing sieging.

Like what? Negotiation doesn't always work. Sometimes you need to wreck stuff to get your point across.

What headchef is proposing would still take a lot of time investment for the raider. So yeah, noobs would be safe. Causing some stranger a little bit of pain wouldn't be worth it unless they had really good stuff to take.

I think that Headchef has made a good point: there's no raiding in w11, and that's a problem.

They're not just hard to peform. They're pretty much impossible right now. The combination of 24h waiting time AND multi-layered defences make it too hard to raid settlements, unless they're owned by hermits who log in once in a week. So only noobs who play from time to time are vulnerable in the current system, but big factions are unlikely to do it, because their time can be used in a better way, and raiding noobs would simply set them back.

Any competent village, or even a hermit, will build few layers of walls, because they're cheap and effective.

Raiding should be hard. I agree. But it shouldn't be THAT hard.

Raids still happen. Seen people losing stuff because they misplaced their visitor gate or got smacked and lost keys. Nobody is gonna sit on newbies with siege equipment, but people still do raid if they find a hole. Isn't it how it is suppoused to be, like old good times? (-hand palibashing from those)

We're a month and a half in. Even if you go back to legacy, there usually wasn't much in the way of actual raiding (other than via bugs) until 8-10 weeks. A lot of fights? sure. Sieging and pillaging? Not really.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

"Much".

Now there won't be any. 24h cooldown is retarded and is only a thing because majority of this game are larpers who would rather see it without PvP entirely.

Cannot represent this view on forum big enough either because people who actually use forums are mostly casuals or hedgehog noobs who want it to remain same so they get spared.

Make haven great again and give every Pali who contains a realm object a claim shield instead of object health and 1h cooldown on cats instead of 24h cooldown .. last world was bad enough in terms of raiding you still needed to be no life to make anything work....

IMO the best solution would be world 10 siege but:
1) Can't extend/disband/build flags on p/vclaims that have had their shield damaged by siege
2) All overlapping claims take shield damage when any other is damaged, irrespective of if the object being sieged is touch by both claims
3) Pclaims/Vclaims show up on the mini-map
4) Wreckingballs do shield damage automatically after being activated, can only be activated after drying
5) Pclaims handbashable for siege damage/destroy if not covered by a vclaim
6) No brimstonning claims
7) Palisades handbashable if not claimed

I remember when thinking shields were good, just poorly balanced, was an unpopular opinion.
Pretty sure it's too late to go back this world, tho

ITT top dog faction wants siege to be easy. Haven't seen this one before

Sieges on nabs are easy.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched people casually farming from inside a fox burrow, ignoring their shield alarm as my wrecking ball bot is 13 hours into the siege. The alarm saves a surprisingly low number of people. It's just wayyy easier to spam wrecking balls everywhere because you don't need to leave a bluebell worth of vandal alt there and your client open to do it.

Additionally, with no shields big villages can feel pretty safe making tentacles over everybody/thing in their area. I've stolen like 5 sets of master keys to normal gates so far, and I assume that trend is gonna continue. The current iteration of sieges protects nab less than most of what has been proposed, and "top dog factions" are basically all invulnerable.
