The ability to die when the people you're fighting can't die means even winning feels bad.
Everybody should be able to die, or nobody should. My vote is everybody...

This proposal really doesn't do anything except make people go from fighting with B12's and Swords, to pool noodles. If you want the benefits of rage, purchase the skill. If you don't want the consequences of the skill, don't buy it. It's that simple, no need to overcomplicate the system with exploitable options and people trying to "game the system".

Let's not make the game more carebear, please.

+1

To be honest his reply was really bad and so is your useless +1, it doesn't even make much sense what he's talking about because someone has to start the fight meaning someone will obviously have Rage activated and that will likely be the type of player that bought rage anyways and the player being attacked might have been a player that would not have bought Rage. This changes nothing in that scenario except that the aggressor could actually be killed if they lose the fight should the player have bought Rage and decided to toggle it. What's wrong with that? Sounds like nerds that go around killing players might actually be scared of dying based on that idiotic response.

Just because YOU think the reply was bad, doesn't mean it is. It's obvious you're being defensive about your most recent baby of an idea. I gave a simple reply, which states facts, to refute your idea. No need to get your panties in a wad for multiple people disagreeing with your idea. Half of your replies in this thread haven't done anything but be hostile to those agreeing with me, so if you want to pull the "plz post useful stufz" you should follow your own advice.

I suggest learning how to take some criticism before you post some ideas.

Well you kind of ignored the entire conversation so far and went right back to posting something that doesn't contribute to the thread in the least so ya I would say it's not a useful reply. How does this change turn a b12 and sword in to a pool noodle? You can still knock players out with them, you can still kill players with them. I'm not suggesting any changes to combat in this thread nor am I suggesting any changes to the combat weapons.

As it stands players are already gaming the system, but if you have something better to suggest I am more than happy to hear it.

Frankly (even for one who largely avoids armed conflict) I feel like Permadeath should be the norm. I support the idea of being knocked out by animals instead of killed, but to be just plain unkillable unless you buy rage? Nah, haven't liked it one bit.

Rather see us return to the days of "Haven is rough, bring a fucking helmet."

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Regarding Murder Alts
They could make it so only the person who knocked someone out has the ability to kill the player. So if 5 people are chasing someone, and they get knocked out, all combat would end unless you were the one who KO'd them. if you were engaged with a person, and they for example suicide into a bear to get knocked out, combat would not end, and you would be able to kill them as well. if you came across someone knocked out by a animal, but did not have them engaged prior, you would not be able to engage them.

Murder alts come up a lot of the time as reasons for not doing something with regards to combat. This might prevent those issues.
