There is so much wrong with this statement in a game with endless stat grind and permadeath implications

What's wrong with that statement? It's nice to keep some wealth when the world ends. It makes losing everything you've built less painful.

The problem with carrying token tradeability over world reset, with the very idea of carrying any kind of wealth over world reset, is it will immediately give huge trade advantage at the beginning of the world. Not sure if it can be helped or if supposed solution is not worse than the problem.

Having lots of RL cash would give the same advantage but at a RL cost.
If token cannot be traded then wealth will be accumulated in hats.
Friends, established teams, knowledge, premade base designs, bots, clients, procedures (as in: way of doing stuff) are all wealth carried over world reset which cannot be taken away from players, except in limited way by changing game rules.

WTS top ql anvil for store hats.

Get used to hearing this in the reality where tokens were made untradeable.

You know that hats in store switch from time to time, meaning their value and supply differs, thus it's an unstable offer, as if you want to sell an anvil for a hat that can't be purchased anymore, you'd have to pray for someone with the hat to actually want to sell it to you, meaning you could potentially be unable to sell the anvil at all, in the meantime other players are raising quality as well, so they could offer the same anvil for points, which at the time with tokens being untradable would be much easier to acquire through other means.

The 10 shark hats lad probably purchased them with tokens, that he acquired through trading and is hoping that they will raise in price to RWT them later, correct me if im wrong with that, it's just a speculation, but I don't think the lad hoarded them to swap them next world for an anvil.

Imagine IRL having an option to get a plastic candy and a normal sweet candy in exchange for your pencil, you would have taken the sweet candy that you can actually eat. Now imagine that you could only get a plastic candy for your pencil, most likely you wouldn't bother with the trade.

Hats trade in Team Fortress 2 worked well because you could recraft these hats into other cosmetics, by selling the hat you could get metal, which you could've used to craft a different hat. Meanwhile in HnH you can't do anything with the hat, other than wear it, and you can't even wear two or three at the time, like with the cosmetics in TF2.
Simple conclusion, hats would have to be used in something other than wearing them, for them to actually be that viable in trade.

Nope they will just ask for the hats that are in store currently. Hats gain value once they are rotated out tokens do not have this potential.

Hats gain value once they're not shit so most things after 2016 are undesirable emergency toilet paper.

Once the game gets big all those subjectively bad hats will gain a huge boost in value.

Have you ever played TF2?
The bad hats, stay bad forever.
They even get worse once there are better added.

Look I know this game has a few obsessive autists when it comes to hats but hats are really not that cool and the hat argument is stupid anyways it's a cosmetic item and the value differs based on the attainability of the hat and the player's desire for that particular hat so it could be worth anything regardless of what it was paid for originally and there's a very finite amount of people interested in hats or only in obtaining a particular hat at which point they no longer have a need to purchase any such item. Tokens on the other hand have a fixed value, are not a cosmetic item because they provide the player with real bonuses in the form of subscription time and are generally valued the same by everyone.

I disagree. Hats would definitely be the new currency and everyone would become a hat autist. Older hats would be worth 10+ tokens, new hats would be worth around 2 tokens like they currently are.
