They become... rare?
That's fine.

Are you going to say the game is going to break down if whale meat and glimmermoss becomes hard to get?

Who would win:
-3 pages of reasonable discussion where everyone agrees whale meat is bad for the game
-1 page of clueless schizo sperging out + his moderator backing him up just because they don't like who posted the idea

Finite resources being rare because of higher population incentivizes botting and gives them a bigger advantage, how can bro have philosopher pfp and be unable to think.

You’re almost there buddy, now go read the rest of the thread and get back to me when you’ve shed whatever bias is wooling your eyes.

The nice thing about bots endlessly running around the ocean is they have non-zero cost to maintain and run (because they can be killed and boats destroyed or stolen), unlike bots in a walled base moving milk into tubs and curds into trays, which is what I imagine a lot of the clearly bad-faith complaints about whales are about, when I don't see any threads asking for cheese botting to be stopped.

Bots spotting barnacles can be a thing, but frankly we should just do something about spotter bots rather than ruin everything about the game.

Here, I made a thread, let's see if we can get the same consensus there: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=76013

Wdym "can be a thing", this is the way to bot whales now :D Finding barnacles is the most time consuming part of the whole whale hunt, hunting a whale after finding barnacles is at most an hour of work.

The cost is basically neglible for spotter bots, basically very similar to cheese bots and it can be run as soon as you get a knarr (or even before if you are stubborn enough to find a whale you can pull with a snekkja) WAY before you start mass-producing cheese.
