Long term progression should be based on flaxQ slowly emanating out into every other industry, but each iteration of new anvil should take significant effort to actually make every 1/2 months.

Most people who care will have bad things to say about that, but it's better than any suggested alternative and I'm right.

Animal bone quality increasing as a method of spiraling everything else slowly is another option if the rate at which their quality increased was faster. Currently taking 8-11 months for possible relevance is just too long.

Could be made relevant through a buffed % quality range.

Animal breeding is retardedly autistic tho, to a degree that it should never be relevant for core industry. Optimal quality animal breeding requires an amount of fodder only bots can maintain. Even pretty basic animal management often makes people quit from the sheer tedium.

I think it's okay having industry progression tied into bone quality super hard, however, the problem with this is they made it so tools hard cap bone quality so it cancels that out entirely. I think this change was kind of SHIT personally. Pretty much kills the end-game where higher animals can and do exist currently but it doesn't even matter because the tool quality hard caps them. It's kind of unfun when there's mechanics in the game that exist to raise animals to high qualities but are then cancelled out by not being able to take advantage of them being high quality.

Flax quality's effect is so fucking slow that it takes literal months and months to see the smallest amount of actual progression caused by flax emanating into other industries. This is not fun gameplay, you shouldn't have to optimally farm for endless months to see the smallest boosts in other areas of industries. I think it's fine flax and its effect on industries is fine as is regardless though, they just need to fix other aspects. Tool quality hardcapping + extreme reliance on good feldspar are the two most annoying things that slow growth down to snail pace.

Nice argument, unfortunately I have already depicted questing and domestic animal quality farming as the soyjak, and flax farming as the giga-chad. All flax farming takes is logging in every couple days, while questing is incredibly autistic, and domestic animals require farming bots.

if you say it's soyjak then I guess i've already lost the argument

This is a good idea for the longevity of a world. Game is still getting better and longer worlds have always been awesome but we need a way to chase those stupid numbers....

  • Flax's influence as a percentage would be higher and come into effect earlier if the baseline quality of natural products (stone, ore, coal, animals) were (much) lower.
  • Flax's quality raises by ~10Q/week, which would be a pretty healthy rate for anvilQ to rise. A ~1:1 anvilQ increase:FlaxQ ratio wouldn't be hard to achieve by changing some formulas
  • Flax has a catchup mechanic, unlike animals, even if it's kinda trash because the chance of getting topQ crops is absurd

Any system intensive enough to keep a NEET/WFH nerd from a 100 person group that has bots/multiple client devs busy is inherently going to exclude 99.5% of people from having relevant industry
