Bring back shield system but fix all the broken shit about it.

nah, the thingpeace mechanic is prety stupid aswell, OP idea can be use to grief a lot

It's fun the way it is right now. Defenders trying to close the gaps and destroy siege equipment. Invaders trying to stop defenders and breach walls. Defenders can feel that base is a sanctuary. And invaders have content.

also, its good point that both sides had most fun during siege and i think both sides satisfied with result?

Exactly. Siege turned out to be the the big end game event that brought everyone together and everyone had fun but it was basically a test run and the conclusion is obvious

The only reason the attackers got past 1 wall in this example is because the defenders mentally gave up on day 1. By day 2 that they grew some balls and realized how trivial it is to stop it from happening

There wont be a repeat of this now that everybody knows siege doesnt really work and as you and servant said it was the most fun event of the lategame.

Do u rly think ppl are going to form giant alliance to camp siege weapon for 24/48/72 hrs etc when the defenders only need to send alts out at 5am to bash and then spam 20 threads about how they "won" on forum? Proper endgame siege is dead and buried. The only siege well see this world if we see any is against hermits. Nobody want to have a realistic discussion about how to make it a thing again because of wat I can only describe as Siege Derangement Syndrome

I imagine it more like the Berth group and AD guys came to the planning discord, and were like "did you try attacking them at 5am when everyone is asleep? They either have to stay up all night which most won't do and you only have to wake up at a specific hour for like 20 minutes".
