Nidbane should steal valuables anywhere, offline inventories, equipped items, containers within criminal pclaim and village

if criminal wants to hide, it will risk high valuable items, devs decide how big and valuable the loot is

if criminal fight, adjust Nidbane stats to all its possible enemies

You can just build a vault far away from your actual base if you want to murder and raid. But the people who do not have a vault are usually the same people that only leave scents when their defending themselves. Differentiation isnt possible with this mechanic, if I chase a raider away from my base or kill them I can now be plundered.

*Correction, Differentiation is probably impossible to achieve if its not related to "who is doing what on whos claim"

So yeah, the fact that punishment are a joke that nidbanes are a joke, there should be MORE punishment, in this new world 16 we are having a lot of trouble cause people even before pallisade did that and is killing people everywhere, not a great start on steam

my suggestiion, acording to lore, is that being able to traspass is one thing, steal another and murder a even worse thing, should skills required to do that being increased at least 2x or 4x times and kill at least 5x or 7x times more expensive

and reduce cost of nidbanes, dont kill criminals but bro, they are spaming steal and destroying stuff of people even targeting streaming, that is toxic afoc, is haven right with being a comunity toxic and promoting griefing at that extent? acording to lore or any hearth thing you like, there should be at least balance and give at least a break to new players, i am back after like 7 yrs and bro, we still dont get above 2k players? i wish more people know about this game and steam is doing that, but if we whant to grown as comunity we should give a break to newcomers and to do that crime and punishment should be something to at least have on mind

so i should be able to kill others just to at least have justice? that is expensive and hard as hell, i dont whant to kill others, just to have time to make leather and stuff so i can make my stuff, making crimen more expensive gives time to people, making punishment more accesible give a break to people and btw PLEASE add a hearth magic that heals you even slow as hell, i have big wounds cause i survive a bear but i am far from making gauce or anything endgame related medicine, a magic even a slow one will be very welcome even for newcomers.

Solution: Holmgang

Core Pitch:
  • Grievous Crime scents can be used to construct a Holmgang totem by a Thingwall near the offender's hearth.
  • The totem must be destroyed within 10 ingame days (or somesuch), or the challenged character dies of shame and cringe.
  • The totem can only be destroyed for 20 minutes around High Noon ingame, and only by the challenged character.
  • A character can only be challenged by one totem at any given time. Crime scents allow you to track down the existing challenge if there is one.

Debatable details:
  • Murder or some other significant skill is required to construct the challenge, and the challenger takes 20% of health permanent shame wound should it fall.

The original idea was suggested to me by a player. Pretty keen. Incentives do not seem too perverse. Please consider.

Remove the high noon time restriction and instead make it so the Totem can be used to summon the individual out of his base too the totem if he is logged in.

Likewise make it so when you do this, it teleports all players apart from the challenger and the challengee away and creates a barrier they can't cross, so it is truly a 1v1. If you can't beat the criminal in the 1v1 he has earned his freedom by right of Holmgang and if he can't beat you he was scum and a coward who deserved his death.

Or even better, instead of doing the barrier, it summons both individuals to Valhalla

hmm indeed, haven is problematic because industry is so vast and time consuming that pvp becomes an industry itself, which most players will quickly learn not to waste time with

i remember Lineage 2 had a system of flaging player name instead of scents... if you attacked a player your name would show pink, so anyone involved in combat was flagged... and if you killed a player your name would be red, meaning anyone could KO you without getting flagged... or something like that

Another -1, you hate to see criminals running the hearthlands but this idea is basically a legacy force summon on steroids.

-1 My man, that's a wrong direction for this. You already removed siege and death. Bad thoughts. Sounds like nidbane on steroids and nidbanes are already trash content.

It gives an incentive to abuse the system by the stronger folks.
Give us fun content instead of punishing us for playing.
I prefer just making siege easier instead.
