tl;dr, skill issue
haven has always had the factor that if you don't have the same amount of time to dedicate as others that you're going to get left behind, it's just more pronounced with .1

world 16 proper is still there beckoning you to play it so those of us with terminal autism can enjoy our sped up pve world

Lacking the ability to bend time to your will is definitely a skill issue in my book.
You even said you wouldn't bother even if you didn't have a job, and that's a skill issue because it certainly wouldn't be a time issue

It certainly feels like the only meaningful change was that everything is just done quicker, via turning the time scale from 1x to 2x. Nice idea, very bad implementation.

Would have been more meaningful ways of implementing this, and I hate to agree with everyone else but definitely does seem more like a cash grab for sub money vs. anything relevant, especially given the last year since W16 started and the severe drought of any releases. Definitely salty I paid for a gold subscription for a year, and then what.. 2 or 3 patches being done?

Yep, making a game with infinite scale and a scaling problem fast will shockingly only make the scaling problem worse.

Schizo book mate
Also yeah, if anyone plays a video game for 16 hours every day willingly, they have some problem they need to take care of lmao

My point was, there was some nice progress made towards not making this game a first and second job combined, but this 5x speed thing is undoing the progress xD

It's nice to have a mixture of infinite grinds with grinds where you can say "I'm done with this [for today]"
