I'm right there with you. I never have payed monthly for a game for one solid reason. When that game is shut down you lose everything. Most devs do not release the game for use on private servers or allow anyone to host a private server once they have been shut down. Thus all progress is lost and you can never play the game again. The one you payed $10.00 a month for 5+ years. Think about it... 5x12x10= $600 shelled out for something you can't ever touch again.

I for one didn't play haven to have 100 alts feeding a zombie character, it was an RPG. There's not much to argue here, fans don't mind paying but they chose to monetize it in the stupidest way possible. People disliked it and are complaining. Some didn't mind and aren't. That's it, let's wait and see how it goes (i.e. wait til jorb calm down and stop being the usual prick and give it some thought).

Careful, the moderators in this forum are real ass lickers and they will ban everyone who disagrees with the money hungry ways of their masters.

I've been at it for hours and havent got banned. It helps if you don't swear and otherwise be rude. Try and be a gentleman when you argue you will look alot better for it.

What is the problem then? You have funds to pay a 10 dollar subscription each month then. Not much, chump change really, for most of us. We all got to eat after all. : )

That is not true. Be happy we are not infested with SWJs compared to what we have here. You can damn well do anything you want with no repercussion. ^.^

About 70% of the playerbase will probably leave unless the developer's remove the free restrictions as this game was free for almost 7 years and never showed signs of going down a forced payment route. Haven as a whole was a very clunky, broken and generally underdeveloped game, but it had that niche charm to it and since it was free it became very enjoyable regardless. Force people to pay then you start to see the value in what you're paying for and atm: it's really not worth paying at all in any sense. And looking at the new free model is practically a slap to all the fans coming back, considering how much of a time sink haven is, seeing this gametime restriction has made playing the game for free practically useless as you can't get anything significant done ingame with only 12 hours...

Just had to throw in my 2 cents here, but there will still be plenty of blind fanboys proclaiming this new p2p model is "supporting the developers" when in actuality you don't really get a choice in paying or not if you just want to play the game properly...

Even if you keep pay to play you can't expect anyone to pay the price of a AAA MMO with haven.

Name one that is a full-loot PvP sandbox. You can't do that in a sandbox because either A) It's P2W, B) No one will invest because you will lose your cosmetics on death, or C) The community isn't the kind of community that cares about cosmetics enough to purchase enough to fund development.

I'm sure most people agree that jorb and loftar spent most of their time WORKING for this game to come out, years to months, months to weeks, weeks to hours. hours to minutes, and minutes to seconds. At one point jorb and loftar has no one clicking refresh on the page until they DO something to attract players to the forum. I'm sure at least 100% of the devs aka jorb and loftar took time off something be it family, better paid job, sports, or any other thing they have planned in their life. And as an indie developers who only get incomes from donation (which is not a secure income stream) and side jobs, that counts for a lot. I don't think you understand what you are doing to them by rejecting their generous plan, they made a game that begun from 0 people to 2000k people in YEARS of work. You are taking this game and driving it into the ground by not supporting the developers. I am sure many people want to pay monthly for a game as unique as this. You claim that you love the devs but your action shows otherwise. If you want the game to stay free then you can expect haven to become extinct because the only driving factor is the motivation of jorb and loftar. You can expect them to lose hope and motivation if you don't appreciate them. And then NOBODY will get to play. Jorb and loftar would also be happy to give you one payment to be able to play w7 haven forever (verified account plan) but I'm not sure many others will want to. Please reconsider to stop discouraging people for rewarding and appreciating others work. Do you really want to kill this game?
