What is the problem then? You have funds to pay a 10 dollar subscription each month then. Not much, chump change really, for most of us. We all got to eat after all. : )

That is not true. Be happy we are not infested with SWJs compared to what we have here. You can damn well do anything you want with no repercussion. ^.^

Just because you can afford something does not make the pricing acceptable. Charging money for something that used to be free? How is that something that I, or anyone else for that matter, should just shutup about?

Less than a hundred people were playing for free before and now you want the same people to pay to get smashed in the balls by another player ¦] gg

You make interesting games that people can enjoy, and I'm all for you guys making money on them. I still think this is a jorbtroll, but if it isn't then I think you're going in the wrong direction.

Requiring a regular commitment to paying for a persistent product is hard to convince people on even for large games with fully paid staff and giant server farms. You guys are on your own, with limited resources and somewhat slow development cycles. If you charge people a monthly fee to play then they are going to expect you to match that persistent dedication with some of your own. Are you going to be able to go at it full time and really push the game?

I personally would much rather see you charge a small fee for entry now. Call it an early access price, make it $15-20. A little high for some, but as it is one time then many will do it anyways. Even with only a few hundred players that should give you guys some starting money to invest back into it and get it to a place where it can really justify a monthly payment model. I'm not sure $10 is in the cards to start with, but you'd be making something.

Consumer confidence is already hard to build in online games, and most of them don't have permadeath, frequent wipes, and a world which gives other people free reign to take their time, money, and enjoyment away for kicks. You guys deserve to make money, but you can't just add the same cookie cutter monetization that other vastly different games use on without warning and expect it to go over well.

Good luck with the game. I hope you figure out a way to make it work. You guys have many good ideas and I'd love to see them get more exposure in the long run. I had planned to come back for this, and I still may down the road, but for now I can't justify another subscription when I'm paying for FF14 and have limited time. The game is just too deep and too likely to suck me in.

we need more posts that are well thought out like this one ^^

Seriously you guys are being a bunch of big crybaby right now. These guys have put a tremendous amount of their time into making this game (and Haven 1, which was free) and now that they try to make money on this one you guys just blow shit up, wow qq more. Let's not forget that having a server run 24/7 is not cheap. I played Haven 1 a lot and I'm more than happy to pay them so they can make Haven 2 the great game it deserve to be, if you guys can't understand that well see ya, you won't be missed.

Brás wrote:I for one didn't play haven to have 100 alts feeding a zombie character, it was an RPG. There's not much to argue here, fans don't mind paying but they chose to monetize it in the stupidest way possible. People disliked it and are complaining. Some didn't mind and aren't. That's it, let's wait and see how it goes (i.e. wait til jorb calm down and stop being the usual prick and give it some thought).

Not 100 alts!

Just 15 alts, feeding 1 monster character. That is manageable, And you don't need to log them all on!! You play one alt toon for 2 days, 6 hours each day, and switch to your monster character quicky just to study and eat from cupboards. Come on how hard could it be? The only hard part is to collect all toon in one place which will be easier when we have global map up.

In rpg you get to kill thousands of monsters repeatedly, grinding is always present in every RPG. I think the monetization is brilliant it fixed botting issue and a lot more.
And you know jorb is a 'usual' prick so why do you expect him to stop being one.. :D

Wow, did you even read what you just wrote?! That's like saying "The thing I could use for free, the thing you put so much time into creating and that cost you money to support every month and that I never paid for, now you want me to pay for it?! Fuck you!" That's how stupid you sound.

Pretty sure this world saw the biggest flood of players ever and then the biggest stampede for the door after seeing the payment model. I'd be happy to pay a 1 time fee then to buy various cosmetic things after launch (hats, capes, customizable village banners/tabards), but subs are really a dying payment model and a huge deterrent to anyone who would play. Especially after this game just now got out of a zombie state of existence while you focused on another game for several years (not criticizing for this but really, it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence)

Actually if you would read between the lines you would realize the point I'm getting at. I was not saying they shouldn't charge anything for it, but choosing to ignore the way this has been handled is willfull ignorance. No information was given out and apologists are cropping up everywhere making excuses for the devs. There is no excuse for not being open with the community. If a product has been increased in price you are supposed to demand an answer, not roll over like an idiot and pretend everything is fine.

Furthermore the original point I was making was that a cheap product is not always acceptable. I don't think I need to explain why the excuse "It's affordable so that makes it ok" is stupid.

i prefer cash shops instead of a expensive monthly suscription, i can't suscribe every month and it wouldn't be worth it if i can't even play much.

im forced to pay to progress when i could have just played a free game with cosmetics and premium content.
