Oh, this guy won't stop shit posting so I better put him on notice by only allowing him to make posts that I can approve! Except how does that person actually end up getting banned beyond that point? Not a clue.

Doesn't really make sense, all this does for moderators is create more work for them and allows shit posters and non-contributing members of the forum to continue to make somewhat on-topic posts in threads instead of just banning them altogether for their behaviour, they get rewarded by being allowed to keep posting although on a limited basis.

No Zeler, Teleskop is a dumbass there's no "rehabilitation" for being a dumbass. The only way he'll ever make good posts is through this exact system and I don't believe that's necessarily a good thing, this would just cause someone to either stop posting or move to an alt in which case they might as well have been banned in the normal sense.

Nobody would be rehabilitated if they ended up being allowed to post normally again, they are just stuck playing this dumb forum game with moderators where they skirt the rules ever so slightly. I am also not saying he needs to be banned forever but if the point of this system is to not ban anyone the normal way and allow them to continue posting under some restriction then all banned individuals should be unbanned and they can have fun dealing with that all day.

If it were one or two posts and the end of it, I'd personally ignore it and just remove the account. Instead, we get a flood of it and have to deal with 100+ posts, usually, which just pisses me off and leaves me less inclined to be lenient on people that pull it.

Pretty sure I was the only one who cared to ban the offenders during the last time and I was even able to find out who some of them were and they received a month long ban which left the forum in relative peace. What did you do during that situation? Or any of the previous ones?
