Haven't seen you actually participating PvP, though. Ans such zones can be created by the players.

Again, what you're asking for opens the door to a limitless number of griefing opportunities. Let's say you claim land in the non-PVP zone, you build a base, you log off for the day.

Later, you log back on and notice there are sprucecaps blocking every exit to your base. What can you do to remove them? Nobody can kill them, you can't eject them from that land, and the owner of the sprucecap characters keeps the game online 24/7 and feeds the characters w/ a bot. Your game is now over.

Or alternatively, you log on 24 hours later and notice that the area around your base is surrounded by someone's palisade. They have set it up with 4 separate claims, all barely covering the palisade. You cannot build a battering ram to knock down the walls because they're claimed. You cannot kill the owner of the walls to get the key. Your game is now over.

See what I mean?

Do you really think such things would happen at large ?!? (while i think it's showing more about your own creepy mindset ... )

And if it would happen it's up to devs to care about ... no care no money ... that simple ...

(Besides i know how to handle such ... :P as i said playing since w3 - i know cat and mouse games ... and i know how to help others )

Absolutely. Using bots to troll entrances is easy because of how slowly hunger decreases, and I could set up a claimed wall around a medium-sized base in less than a couple hours. You are highly underestimating both the cleverness and the maliciousness of the average video game player.

Players might not even do it out of malice, they could do it for extortion as well. They'll cage your base, but leave you a runestone with a charter stone password. "Teleport your character with crates of all your belongings, or the wall stays up." Your game is over.

From what I've seen, Jorb & Loftar try to address problems in their game by changing the way that the game works, rather than trying to police players on a case-by-case basis. The only exception I've seen them make is when a bug is exploited and a major faction gets fucked over, but that's very rare. They aren't going to create a non-PVP zone and then selectively remove griefers from your base all because you're threatening to remove your subscription.

Or at least I don't think they would. How much are you planning on paying them?

Some other clever ways to harass players in a non-PVP zone:

1. Follow around someone who appears to be foraging in a boat. Because PVP is off, they can't do anything about that. Wait for them to inevitably leave their boat and pick a plant. Then, just grab their boat.

2. Program a bot to drink water, eat food, and cut down nearby trees. Place said bots all around your enemy's base. Laugh as the entire region goes barren and there's nothing he can do about it.

3. Claim a vast stretch of land right near your enemy's base and decorate it with stone-paved pixel hentai.

4. Build/claim a charter stone right outside the main exit of your enemy's base. Create an assload of alt characters and have them spawn at that charter stone. Laugh as the inhabitants of that base deal with the awful FPS drops due to all the hearthfires in one place.

5. Have some alts spawn at a charter stone for some popular location like a market. Then, just have them surround entrances/exits/whatever. No more Sevilla :(

*Wank Wank Wank* LOL - nowadays you can setup claims that are not friendly tile to tile ?!? ;)

Maybe they should think over their behaviour if they want more and steady income ... and i sure paid more than i did to every other dev / publisher before - and with going 58yrs old you might guess that covers some decades ... so what ?!?

I think you're misunderstanding how the game works. People are not obligated to remove griefers from your base because you personally requested a game-mode that would never work. What you're requesting is a game of basketball without a hoop, but instead moderators who tell the players when the ball was thrown correctly.

I don't know what "wank wank wank" is supposed to mean but I'm guessing it's an insult. If such a non-PVP mode ever exists, I'll pay you a visit ;)

I don't know why you're calling my mindset creepy. You gave an idea for a game-mode, and I replied with my earnest explanation for why that idea is terrible. That's how this board works, right?

You can pretend like nobody is actually going to exploit these vulnerabilities, and you can act like Jorb & Loftar will fix the problems just for you. But neither of those things is going to happen.

The point is moot anyway because Loftar has gone on record as saying that a non-PVP mode of Haven & Hearth will never happen.
