Hm, maybe I'm wrong then. Hats can't be barter standed though can they? I know I see sub tokens get traded around in CF.

I don't know and i'd like to buy my own hat - who knows what the previous owner did with it?

The idea to be able to redeem subscription tokens stored in the hearth fire as trade-in for hats in the store should be given further thought by the devs.

Perhaps, boxes with gifts, like those that were given in the World 9 under Christmas for the quests of the tree (limited editions)?

The boxes I got from the christmas questing special contained (iirc), among other stuff, saws and bows of somewhat decent quality, merc rings, gold nuggets, salt, perls, tin soldiers, rock crystals, food, tree seeds, symbel, ...

Should such stuff be obtainable hour zero of a new world it would massively speedup early game for the rich few, thus be p2w.

That's why I wrote that the contents of the boxes need to be considered. In addition, boxes like tokens can be purchased by any people (not necessarily for real money). Finally, in this game it is impossible to win in principle. The ban on opening boxes in the first month or two after the start of the world, in the end of the end...

Well, no, it means no. No problems.

A dozen crystals of salt with a ringlet and a saw, and a week later the game inscription in full screen: "You won!"
