Where's the problem with a clover on a sheep?

So live near a grassland or make a teleport to one? You can't find nettle without forest or dragonflies without swamp, all three are crucial earlygame imo.

I just found enough wool to make one gauze... don't really want to waste it on a small (10 pt) wound.

Infected wounds and soap

Postby MooCow » Mon Feb 11, 2019 9:51 pm

People purposely getting Infected sores, then healing them is degenerate gameplay. It bypasses the actual wound system allowing that system to be both poor, and ignored.

Getting an infected sore should be both an additional wound, and prevent the wound that got infected from healing. Soap should heal 10x (or more) than what it currently does.

The fact that the current state of the wounds system is poor, isn't an excuse for having an additional bad system within it.

There is a need for an easy access cure all. Make a gauze like item that can cure almost all injuries. Making it work slow, and take up an equipment slot(s) should make up for its cure all potential. For added fun, make it take up the slot most related to the injury.

I noticed that soap at q12+ starts having a chance to heal 2 pts in one use instead of 1 pt, I’m not sure what the other quality jumps are but I didn’t think infected sores were all that difficult to deal with personally.

No, it's taking a risk it'll heal faster. usually it does, sometimes it doesn't. There have been reports of a 10pt wound getting atrociously large. If you have better medicine, then it's not worth it. If all you have is gauze... maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

We have the benefit of modern medicine and antibiotics. People obviously always died of an infection before 100 years ago, right? Infections healed on their own enough that amputation was a last resort, only after a wound started to become gangrenous.

Don't disagree about the extra wound. A lingering infection can do some pretty extensive damage. A proper wound would certainly make me think twice about if just letting it fester till it heals is worth the savings.

Easy solution would be to just not allow wounds that are 'worse' than infected to become infected..

But during early game your soap is low quality and there is nothing you can do with it!
