It's not me saying Speed Is not affected on custom clients, I don't use those since 2015.

That Is the only explanation I can think of, If it's true that custom clients are not affected.

Explain then.

I've seen cases where someone moves uphill and gets fucked by the people close behind them, if it didn't slow down speed this shouldn't have happened.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

well for a brief moment, your pursuers would be on flat ground as you're hitting the hill, allowing for them to catch up and get a hit off before they also hit the hill. i still refuse to believe your client's interpretation of elevation affects player speed on the server. i will not believd it until i see the "oh shit" post from jorbtar about it

It doesn't, the flat world client tweaks take place in the Ridge class, all it does is set drawing ridges to a max height instead of allowing them to extend to the true Z height - the client still understands the height is there, it just doesn't display it.

Can you explain us why people Is saying they haven't noticed the Speed variation?
Are them Just blind? Very possibile.

So, the main question Is: do custom clients show and are effected by Speed variation with elevation or not?

Or it's Just a visual effect?

Thx

Why whould't they be affected by speed variation? - so yeah they do - u slow down when u go uphill(even when flatworld is on) and u go fatser downhill + some clients can show speed as a variable. The best example is that the old ardenes client shows speed of players and animals

No meaningful suggestions were made in the op, but I'm glad we realized that the custom clients should stop disabling the speed changes from elevation. Signed.

they can't disable the speed changes, it's just not that noticeable when it looks like you are on flat ground.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Yeah, so basically speed difference is almost negligible, but if it was greater it'd kinda suck. What if instead of slowing you down running uphill drained more stamina?
