Keep in mind how fucking big this map is. It'll take you 6-12 hours to move from the SE to the NW corner. Go ahead and place those dots on the map in a way that's even approaching reality, and it'll be very clear how unlikely you are to see a single other person in an MMO.
Also consider the fact that all those ppl that DON'T want to see other ppl in an MMO (those who would love a private server/single-player) are still better off with a central spawn if they just think for a bit and consider the option of fucking off to a different continent. I lived on the east continent this world and honestly it was practically empty except for a few bases here and there, if the spawns were random those other continents would be equally filled with players so regardless of if you wanted or not you would run into others as much as any other continent (and probably quite a bit less than currently on the central one, on average).
It this another one of the "WELL NEW PLAYERS DONT KNOW ABOUT IT BEING ADVANTEGOUS TO THEM SO ITS NOT"? Sure, ig. But I don't think the decisions should be made based on ppl's lack of knowledge, if we really cared about that there would be a proper ingame tutorial and mechanics explanation instead of the few "tutorial" quests. Which btw. should be a fucking thing before a steam release, but ig ppl whispering into dev's ears with promises of going big didn't think about it.
