Make it so the stats of the guy that died matters for the nidbane if his stats were worse than the killers, and if they were betters then just leave it at the same % as it is right now.

Killing a naked alt with 1000 ua = the nidbane has like 100 ua
Killing a 1000 ua guy with 1000 ua = he has 1200 ua (if the murder nidbane is 120% of stats, I forgot actually)

Another good idea is that if you burry the body of the guy you killed the murder scent should become weaker, lose some stacks and make the nidbane weaker by like 50% - wouldn't that be great?

That is an unavoidable consequence of infinite character growth. Even without retaliation people would still use murder alts, because you'd have to be retarded to even take a character with crafter skills outside of your walls, let alone use him to fight.

Character growth isn't infinite, but a level cap doesn't really change the incentives, and I do have -- call me naive -- the vision that the game could perhaps at some point allow for more qualitative character development under which your character isn't just an assortment of stats, but something that you are attached to for reasons of her personal history, and blablabla. Under any system in which I care about my character murder alts could obviously be a thing, as long as retaliation is.

And a system where I don't care about my character is just a system where every character is a murder alt, no?

It should be the other way around completely, giving leniency to someone that managed to kill a superiour character.
What you suggest would make killing lesser developed ones completely consequence free.

Another good idea is that if you burry the body of the guy you killed the murder scent should become weaker, lose some stacks and make the nidbane weaker by like 50% - wouldn't that be great?

Slightly more reasonable.

Are you really that stupid Granger? Why would the strongest character on the world having 50000 STR have to struggle with a nidbane sent by naked alt? That makes no sense at all.

Pay2win because the more you pay, the more alts you can have. For as long as having alts = advantage, paying would be an advantage, therefore pay2win. lrn2think

Ozzy's idea is to make killing naked alts a non-problem almost, which is a completely legit suggestion.

How is character growth not infinite? OK, you capped combat stats (at too high a level IMO), but there's no such thing as enough farming.

Anyway, this isn't a binary issue where you either care or you don't care about your character, it's a sliding scale of how much you care about your character. And I think with infinite stat growth the slider is too far into the caring territory.

As for making characters more than an assortment of stats that's a great idea, right up there with world peace ¦]

Well, with your suggestion we can scrap them altogether as they would just be another endgame tool for factions to fuck with the rest.

I understand that you, from a position of strength, want to dominate all with ease. Maybe you try to understand that, given you being given your will, quickly have noone to dominate as they (realizing the only role they can take is one of a disposable NPC) would stop to play?
