I can't just finish doing all of this, then bother to drink this, eat some nuts for this, blahbababablah. I just want to spend an hour prepping food, baking it/whatever and just fucking eat it. Promote dietary variance with personally random cravings. "Your character is craving this and this today" Said foods will give extra feps of your choice, or something like that.

No thank you. How can you call the current system garbage worth removing and then propose this idea.

Currently, you do not have to sit and analysis your character sheet's satiation - that is something you choose to do to optimize your characters growth & food supply. Instead, you can just eat varied foods and maybe watch out for whatever is the worst satiated food with marginal impact. There is no requirement being put on you to maximize your character growth.

Complexity is not a punishment to new players unless its hard to understand or illogical.

To chalk it up to RNG makes a lot less sense thematically and would just have characters with cupboards full of different types of food waiting on the "craving" to appear.

Complexity creates tedium. And this is a turn off for your average Joe. Sure, my idea sucks, but something that is less tedious would benefit the game.

Until there is reward for all of the tedious work and needlessly complex aspects of this game, it will continue to suffer the 3-month Exodus™. Otherwise give us good reason to play Farmville Simulator and keep it as it is.

I really, utterly, completely doubt that the game would keep players any longer if it were simpler. The issue is people get bored, saying "I don't want to do tedious activity X anymore", usually those people aren't doing anything they find fun in the game at all. It becomes their focus of attention, but it's not really the real problem.

Building a base is fun. Racing for quality nodes is fun. Establishing a kingdom is fun. But as soon as the building phase of the game ends, people start to drift away.

Well, in that case, it's pretty tedious to have to make different foods for each stat. If I am going to get on board with your idea, I want only one food. That food gives 1 FEP for +1 in every stat that way it's just RNG. We can call it soylent green!

That way I don't need to think about what crops to grow, what food to eat, what quality the food is, so on... I can just go on about playing the game...

But while we're at it, let's make all trees yield the same resources. It's just a tedious complexity to go looking for the best tree, collect their seeds and start growing them. (See where I am going with this)

What every player of Path of Exile learns multipliers are king. Stack enough multipliers and you can reach broken amounts of damage. Same is true for eating in haven. Hunger reduction bonus should at MOST reach 50% usually closer to 75%. Multipliers from satiations with ravenous with pay to win bonus again reach stupid amounts. If all of these were additive instead it wouldn't be quite as bad. Combine it with the other suggestions on handling gaming away the satiation and you should have something a bit more balanced.

tl. dr. Tables symbel and bonefires are broeken as fuck for the hunger reduction; satiation are broken for the fep multiplier bonus
"Since all men count themselves righteous, and since
no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."

Does the current fep system really satisfy you? What would you change?

I know I am, I'm trying to make a point. Complexity and tedium are not the same thing.

To answer your question, see my post in this very thread about it.

And you posted in this thread with:

CSPAN wrote:Just dropping in to say the satiation system is garbage, better off removing it. Or at least have satiations move toward 100% over time, from both ends of the spectrum.

How is anyone supposed to take you seriously with that type of introduction. I replied in all seriousness to your idea and you have yet to contribute anything more to your idea.

As I said in that post, complexity is not punishment to new players. It allows depth and exploration if done logically.

Watch out, you might fall on your face considering how slippery of a slope you're on.

*sigh* I'm going to go back to lurking for another year. Thanks for reminding why I don't contribute more often on these boards. I'm not trying to be rude or start a fight, I'm trying to have a constructive discussion with you and you refuse to actually discuss anything.

Edit: And his post has been deleted.

Edit 2: Admittedly, I was a bit snarky with that sarcastic post but it wasn't meant to be taken so aggressively.
