You’re pretty much encouraging griefing because griefing noobs forces noobs to buy from large villages to save time. Seems dumb. Profit off of a bad mechanic in the game. They should make destroying one costly or something more than 1 hour of afk destroying. Possible just making it cost brimstone to start bashing and raising soak value would be enough maybe? Nothing that takes a week to build should be bashable if I go grab lunch from town in my opinion. (For nerds who are going to say “kiln takes 5 minutes to bash! Buff!” A kiln can be built behind a wall).

Yea the kiln comparison is bad because you NEED a kiln to progress but you DONT NEED a dock to progress.
There are ways around getting your dock not bashed. You could live on one of the many continents that don't have so many people.

I think this makes sense to buff docks, especially from the time investment perspective. The point about trading and it being a resource sink shows how its current state is big group friendly vs awful for noobs/hermits. Any power player being able to bash a dock so quickly makes it a nonviable aspect of play for the average hermit.

Your only option would be to claim a pond, surround it with a pali, and build it there which is pretty ridiculous gameplay.
Tar/sticks have become a pretty worthless trade item compared to other things you can collect for your time. And if you wanted it to stay viable there are plenty of other ways such as adding a curio or gilding recipe instead.
Why should the loners and newbs suffer to any asshat with a sledge and personal chef...
