And the "hunger catch-up mechanic" that is meant to prevent sweaty no-lifers from snowballing too hard still does exactly the opposite

The same person who designed hunger as a time-gate feature to help casuals also designed this

It's really difficult to say that hunger is designed in any way

Day 18

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the "How do I", as it seems to be intended gameplay.

Idk why I'm bothering any more. Yes it's nice to give someone a consolation prize when they lose. But it's stupid when the consolation prize is a net boost and someone can intentionally lose over and over again to gain the prize, without someone else actually winning anything when said loser exploits it.

Haha

If you want hunger to not be inherited so badly then make hunger decay linear and fast enough so death won't feel like month of progress.
Just answer yourself that question: how much time do you need to reduce satiety from 200 to 0?
Also why we start at 0 satiety? Other games often start their counters for mechanics like this at value that corresponds to 100% bonus. When it is this way you actually get benefits for not playing, unlike with current system that benefits constant grind. For me it feels very strange that simple "well-rested" bonus is so central to this game.

And my reward for killing the highest statted enemy I have is that they get to gain even more stats.

Haha great success

Day 20

Combat equalisation, 50% of your enemy's stats, 25% of the LP they spent for those stats.

Suiciding multiple times, resetting both hunger and satiations, boosting your attributes even further, not falling out of the "50%" margin cause you only need one quarter of your enemy's LP.

Great mechanic.

Hunger is the opposite of a "catch-up-mechanic." New player joining late is effectively punished for wasting all the hunger regeneration they'd enjoyed if they'd only had started earlier.

Kindof ironic that the whale/salt changes both made stats way less balanced at the semi-tryhard level  I am filled with a smug sense of superiority and vindication

Everybody has whale vs. like 3 people are autistic enough to have whale
Everybody has infinite hunger vs. like 5 people kill themselves for hunger

If you genuinely believe it's better now, that's just because you have an irrational fear of bots :P still kinda sucks both ways and has obvious solutions that work for everybody tho
