Can we just say, we're glad OP is going to play W10.

Yes, there are advantages to paying, however little/much. Which is good for now as the devs will finally get money.

Even if we wanted to explore alternative ways to fund the game.. problem is the devs are pretty anti-commerce minded. Or at least, they have this innate mental block that prevents them from considering the monetization aspect to be of great importance.

Which is fine as we then get devs that don't sell out... but then we run into issues where the devs can't work full-time on the game.

Iunno, after hearing on the stream jorb's views/mindset towards alternative payment models... the feeling I get is while he would love if the game could be funded solely through cosmetics and non-gameplay related things.. he can't be bothered to really figure out how.

Personally, I have no problems with the proposed payment model for W10. I feel that selling small (and maybe crucial) advantages for such low costs is the right way to go and a smart decision by the devs. Hopefully they ran the numbers though and know how many subs plus new verifications they need per month in order to do this full-time. If they didn't even bother doing such calculations, then I'm all out of hope anyways.

Sorry about the ramble.
