I have a better idea, just make so that people w/o rage couldn't kill the animals.
EZ BALANCE.

better make the hunting system not being a stupid contest with reaggroing ten times per second and cliff/water abusing, and then, when we will have some working system, we can make desicion with relevant info.

This is probably true. Therefore I'd vote for making only trolls/mammoths/whales really deadly. And definitely vote for making rage/nonrage treated equally in that regard.

making mammonth deadly will make half of players not even trying to kill them

the ones that knows, how to abuse and kill them with some palisades bugs or whatever will kill them, and others will not even try and never learn

As in contrast to how it is right now when every single player who sees a mammoth immediately charges forward at him, right?

tbh I think that an animal shouldn't ever do more than kick the crap out of you and wander off, regardless of rage status. The risk/reward is too out of whack if they can kill you, a rational player would never try a remotely challenging animal, and if you're not incentivized to take on a challenge the game is boring.

It's already pretty punishing if you miscalculate, a moose made me its woman a couple days ago, shredded my armor, 100 hhp damage, just a painful recovery. If you want to increase the punishment for failing an animal fight, just make the wounds worse.

when we met our first mammoth near our base, we at least try to lure him to walls to see what he can/will do
and only after that we learn a bit of his mechanics

never would do that if animals would kill after KO

Also I'm not sure if I like the idea of getting killed by an eagle because I decided to go afk for 30 seconds while sitting inside my walls.

For sure its sorta anoyin how hard it is to die in the current iteration of hnh playing without rage sorta feels like "do whatever at worst ill get a wound"
