Results seem pretty decisive, with 84% of players agreeing that travel needs to be fixed. Dev focus when?

No wonder when that shitty site isn't functioning correctly so it won't allow everyone to vote:

Not only is the 'vote' completely meaningless as the result isn't sampled from all players - additionally the vote system in itself is broken.

Everyone that matters has clearly voted already.

Interesting view you express regarding 'democracy'.

Good thing that this isn't one.

Sorry you feel the need to bring politics into something unrelated from out of nowhere, but that doesn't change the fact that you don't matter.

I have stated in my past posts that the devs don't care about what we as players want / request, and more often or not seem to be motivated by doing what they feel like at that time.

Clearly, this is a dictatorship.

Being able to have an unlimited amount of characters with the ability to oath now (through village permissions, instead of lawspeaker+chieftain only) would make this quite powerful.

As studying could be brutforced (simply add more alts) it would only need a low-level curio industry, like a farmer outputting dolls and such, to keep authority up, food isn't really needed (except for the farmer, but he can eat for energy while replanting beets or carrots). I guess most would resort to simply discard any study alts that run out of XP and auto-spawn fresh ones using beacons (so a clay source, a small tree farm that could run shovel-planted and a stone patch inside the walls would be a plus), let them run toward their assigned study desk, refill it from an nearby cupboard and log out till the LP they accumulate is needed. Or skip the study desks and use more alts that study directly from cupboards.

You're actually such a salmon.
Nobody in the world would do this. Say you do like 10 trades a day, which is unthinkably high, you'd need like 5 bluebells worth of authority per week. You can harvest/replant like 5 cupboards in 10 minutes. automating this would save you an hour every 5 years. The best programmer in the world would still get a net loss in terms of effort:reward. It would take like 5 years to save an hour of time.

Whothefrick would automate login for this? And if they did, why would it even matter?? It's literally pressing the login button on like 5 alts once a month. How will the hermits and small villages compete with these bots. You know what, none of that even matters though because just like in legacy you can avoid the authority cost to people leaving village in the same way. The thing literally everybody did.

Oh, and can you IMAGINE A WORLD where people would use cupboards/bots to study from instead of desks. Even with a headless client it'd not be worth it, like, jesus. If you can run that many chars at once, and wanna spend your time making useless scripts instead of trading you could just bot the thing you're trading for.

yes out of 98 votes an overwhelming majority of the population

I think 100 votes is unironically enough within the context of haven's population for it to actually be a pretty accurate representation of the community.

If the distribution of people who can't vote is random, then it's extremely unlikely to be a relevant effect on the result, no?

The problem is that straw poll as a polling tool is entirely unreliable. If you want accurate statistics regarding majority opinion then you have to use a proper methodology and by that I mean in this case, posting the poll to a single thread in C&I and then most likely linking it to all your friends in discord that share the same opinion leads to a fairly large selection bias. It is a targeted and very narrow method of surveying an opinion. The only way to administer a poll properly would be for the devs themselves to propose a selection of choices to be voted on, ensure the poll reaches the majority of the population by announcing it on the forum as well as in-game and provide ample time for players to vote.
