But my favourite pvp is against people who want to opt out of pvp :(

Right here is the average poster that's always incrementally asking for the game to be less brutal. What level of babying would it take for somebody whose best effort split among probably 10 people is building 0.046 archery towers per hour to not get fucked? All compromising with people from this camp does is make the game less fun for people that want a unique, brutal experience.

I don't know anything about the drama between you and this dude, but the idea of Haven being a brutal and unique experience makes me chuckle. Every survival aspect in this game is cheeseable and broken, no part of Haven is brutal besides the part where it caters to botters and nolifers who can do what you do and then use your efforts to make it a brutal game for weaker players. No part of Haven is brutal for you at all.

There are probably like 100s of real survival games out there that offer a true brutal survival experience and Haven was never one of them, Haven's brutality comes in its tedium.

I actually think it would be way more interesting to be able to die from starvation or temperature or uncheesable PVE than it would be to get randomly ganked and drowned by some sweaty botter.

youre only affirming his point lol
the devs have capitulated to the tards already plenty of times, we can thank them for most of the tedium that was introduced because people whined about botting they didn't even understand enough that the devs were convinced that those changes were somehow wanted/needed bc they don't experience enough of their own game.

I don't think jorb's hot take on stuff like glass had anything to do with combating botters. I also don't think that the neutering of the brutality had anything to do with people whining. The game has been cheesable and not survival like since its birth. I actually think it was easier for a new player 10 years ago.

The game is more tedious because jorb has bad ideas and doesn't play his own game enough to have any frame of reference.
The game is not brutal because they haven't added any depth to PvE or the "survival aspect" of the game in 10 years.

I think even the most larpy players have been asking for more interaction with the actual world, and more danger - ideas like temperature mitigation, weather, real PVE endgame that isn't cheesable trash mostly comes from these types of players. The big changes recently that have made stuff easier like needing to eat less often, smaller redhanded timer and so on were to please botters and titans, not noobs. No matter how you may have tried to frame the argument when you asked for that shit you didn't fool anybody but jorb.

Haven's brutality comes in its tedium.

I think its well said. There aren't many difficult things in the game than other players and the humongous amount of work involved to do anything. Minus possibility to drown and run towards bears maybe.

To resolve tedium devs should just add soft or hard daily caps on how much you can do. Many MMO games (WOW, LOTRO) have daily quests that you can do at most once, if you could do them 1000 times every day and gain linear benefit people would burnout and stop playing. I've never played it but in runescape you can grind infinitely I think? 10h a day to get 10x more than what you could in 1h.

were you of the opinion that it was actually a better situation when you had to log on every 8 or so hours to eat if you wanted to be increasing stats at the most competitive level??
are you under some sort of strange belief that eating in hafen is at all a mechanic focused on survival gameplay?????

this thread is an amazing troll man, i gotta hand it to u

I am of the opinion that the only people who were logging in every 8 hours to eat and increase their stats competitively are the only people who would be upset by me suggesting that PVP be opt-in only. The neutering of this mechanic made the game easier for tryhards, nobody else was effected by it.
