Something similar to how the Wurm premium service works could be used here; in there how it works is that free accounts can play as long as they like and do mostly everything (They can't own deeds which is like a claim), and all of their abilities/skills/stats are capped at a certain level, they can't gain past it and are stuck there. If you go free, they are reverted to that level and regain their own levels after you subscribe and premium up again.

I think that would be fine considering how the game works with permadeath, a lot of the time is based off your beginning and settling to grow, which can easily consume most of your hours for a month. From then and on, if you enjoy and like the game enough, you could subscribe.

Also, the price is a little high for the fact it's an eternal alpha, and the nature of the game where you can pretty much lose all progress in an instant. I'd lower it to 10/month at least. I'd also suggest a bit of more freetime for the current community (I.e the next two weeks are free for everyone to play), mostly because this is a time of discovery and figuring out how the heck everything works (Which I love! Don't get me wrong), and it seems unfair to force people to pay in order to actually be able to figure out everything, not to mention the likelihood of restarting and server issues/bugs we will encounter.

By the way, I'd suggest having any premium account be able to keep the old party arrow-tracker to any other account, so two friends can enjoy the game together without the fear of bots/alts swarming to a spot.

But a lot of us have a problem with the price, please give a listen to us. You said in an earlier post that we wouldn't pay 10$ and we wouldn't pay 6 either, but you're wrong, I would pay 6$ but I will not pay 10. Why? Because 6 is a fair price for your game per month and 10 isn't. It's not that I can't pay 10$ a month, but I'd feel cheated doing that considering haven is not a perfect game, there are finished games out there with much more content that charge 10$ a month, and hell some even allow you to earn membership just by playing the game on top of the loads of content, and for you to ask 10$ for hafen really makes me feel like you're suckering us, I'd love to support your game and play it but I know deep down it's simply not worth 10$ a month and I can't bring myself to pay that. So to say I wouldn't pay 6$ is flat out wrong and I've explained why it's a fair price.

agreed, 5/6$ sounds reasonable enough to me.

and before anyone says "buy 1 year sub", 72$ is a lot to be paid upfront, it would burn a big big hole in my pocket, like many others, i'm sure...

You know that he means that the yearly price is $6/mo right?

If you're planning on playing for a year, the 1 year subscription is exactly $6 / mo.

Again, it is $6 / mo already.

$6

I find it definitely worse to have my money slowly disappear monthly, shorter subscriptions only make sense if you don't know if you are going to stay for the whole peroid.

Just for you, brother, I have been kind enough to do precisely that.

They are right on a thing tho, 50 bucks is the price I spend on Xcom when I brought it and I spent like 25 hours on it, and only because I made the fun go longer and longer.

I wont do the math, mostly because I am a complete shit for this, but a price estimated with the amount of time anyone would play the game.

Fuck I'm tired

Cosmetic stuff such as clothes and hats in a permadeath game may work like in Salem but I don't expect ppl will go crazy on it. I think you can sell face paint, body paint that could be inherited, body wears if you like as an addition cause ppl do buy them in Salem. Going on Steam isn't a bad idea. Once you get the game to a good state, I think 15-20 dollars will cut it nicely. Personally, I'm all for 1 time payment. You could still sell those cosmetic stuff in store even you sell the game as one time thing or add on like every body else does (a bit low, though).

Oh, my bad, I only saw the gametime tokens.

10 dollars is perfectly fine then, I don't see what the hassle is all about.

10$ per month is too much for a product like this. You can't keep telling players 'oh but we deserve 10$ per month just so we can make a game that is actually worth 10$ per month'. You're selling what you currently have, not what's about to be, and it's way overpriced. Not to mention selling game time that you can trade in game, that's just horseshit.

As I've said in couple of my posts, why couldn't you have gone with a cosmetic shop + perhaps some (early game) conveniences?

Ok I gotta know something here. Do you have to do the verification bit at 15 dollars before you can do the sub for 10? Can you sub without doing the verification? Usually the awnser would be no but its not really clear to me in this instance.
