Yeah, except the assumption that brick walls would be permanently useless was perhaps one you were bold to make.
The fact you can say this with a straight face and be completely serious baffles me. Are we really supposed to build/play this game around the idea that you can/will make drastic changes to a core mechanic at any time and we should be able to adapt?

Game is in alpha stage and things change all the time. Core mechanics too.
If devs couldn't do any major changes to the game, except in world resets. That would slow down development of the game quite massively. (or result in way too frequent resets)

So just because it has a 'sturdy appearance'? Purely aesthetic reasoning? Then am I to assume that changes like this should start happening to other sectors of the game as well?

jorb wrote:Assuming that brick walls were intended to be useless is -- pardon my French -- pretty dumb.

Then why is it that bwalls have been useless for the majority of the time this game has been around?

Brick walls had a significant use case in Legacy, which represents quite a bit of the game's life.

Cost, bruh. Brick walls cost a lot more.

You can certainly expect that they should, but when several years of experience tells you otherwise I don't see why it remains a reasonable expectation for you to change it mid world

What kind of design does your village have if you cannot build a single brickwall around it?

My arbitrary time frame dictates the relevancy of previous game mechanics!
