Patreon for payment?

Postby GenghisKhan44 » Sun Sep 06, 2015 2:22 pm

Ostensibly people are having problems using Paypal. Gotcha. I've had similar problems. So are there any other ways for Jorbtar to monetise off of you saps?
Of course there are! Patreon, for one.
https://www.patreon.com/

I know a couple of guys running a Catholic podcast that use Patreon to get donations. It's been used for far less scrupulous things than that. Jorbtar, mayhaps you'd consider setting something up, there? (We have the added bonus of seeing how many of you are willing to kiss your shekels goodbye.)

Patreon isn't a store, it's just a place to give away money.

There was donate button before. No need for fancy things that basically steal % of your money.

If you look around, some of the pages actually do come off like a permanent Kickstarter page. You can buy things, if you like. Or just throw money at your favourite devs.

@shubla: I don't think Tim and Wilson would have signed their dinky podcast onto Patreon if they didn't expect to get a decent amount of change from it. They currently get about $350/month from 19 donors.

We are in no rush to set up a Patreon. We are looking at a better payment provider.
