PvP Balance

I feel like there are some serious problems with the balance in PvP right now. In the old haven, when fighting someone, equal levels of Unarmed/melee would take away 50% of the defence meter at 1x weight. Currently in this system it takes away the full maneuver. This in itself may not be a huge issue, but when you add agility advantage into the mix, shit gets really stupid, and even a slight skill advantage will damage you through your maneuver, i'd hate to see how this will play out once swords become more common.

My suggestion would be to bring it back to the normal haven levels, where equal skill weight removes 50% of the maneuvers bar and increase cooldown on defensive maneuvers.

I just want the old havens pvp back. There was nothing wrong with it, or anything needing to be changed.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I liked the old system aswell but im pretty sure we are stuck with this one, so lets atleast try to fix it.

I'm currently in favor of this notion. I still need to spend a lot of time practicing combat (both PvM and PvP, at various levels and stages in the world) before I can judge the new combat system as a whole, but whatever formula they're using to determine % Defense consumed by an attack is messed up.

I disagree that nothing was wrong with it. Movement combat between two skilled players was a permanent stalemate from what I heard. I can't really comment if this system is better than that, but I know something was going to need to be done to overhaul it eventually.

I also agree with the original sentiment, blocks feel really fragile right now.

Totaly disagree. Pvp system now very good and really interesting. A lot better then run n punch.
The main question - rebalance ranged, melee and unarmed. Thats all.

Legacy HnH combat was dumb, having a bit of skill and few buckets of water compared to food would let you run forever. You could only kill the ones who's really bad at running.

the current system of pvp is much better then the old.

once you figure out how to get skills and how to learn new skills. the combat gets much easyer.

if you are going to defend, using 2 blue defence skills or ect. will make your def all that more.

the combat needs to be refine a little more o/c, once I play with it a little more I think i'd be able to build a meta.
You can solely beat the shit out of someone with defence moves if you know how :)

The system is better but the balance is not.

The problem is that unless you want to take a huge risk then you have to cover all attack types with your defence moves, so having to double up on maneuvers is just extremely stupid.

Its easy to beat the shit out of someone if you have more agility for sure, or even equal agility if you're better and have a solid combat deck.
