Some complaints about symbel items

Postby Archiplex » Sun Sep 20, 2015 5:09 pm

Symbel items in w7 were mostly well balanced and fine, however in Hafen they seem to be much more disposable, and less useless - And oddly balanced.

In general, items wear out VERY quickly (Most have 10-15 wear and will die out in few uses), provide a much smaller FEP bonus to anything, and have extremely weird bonusses

For example, wooden cutlery provides 4.7% Satiation reduction at 10/10/10 quality... Whereas a metal mug provides 4.5% at 18/14/12 quality... 5 metal nuggets versus a single wooden block and the wooden block proves superior; at LOWER qualities.

It is also extremely strange that a metal sauciere, which had significant durability in the previous world, now only has 11 wear, about the same as wooden cutlery.

Could we have numbers run around to improve the usefulness of symbel items and eating off tables in general? It doesn't seem too useful and there is no hunger reduction anymore; which marks most of is as far less useful than before (Assuming satiation reduction means removing the chance for a satiation to occur, which makes sense. Otherwise it should definitely be reworded.)

Likely works same as essence does on food, lowers the penalty when you RNG the proc.

Lowbie tableware giving sat benefits is pretty useless tbh. Kaios had a great suggestion that they improve the energy you get out of food instead to help newbies get off the ground without trashing their beginner bonuses too much. This only really applies to the wooden items though.

They are probably not optimal in general. We should go through them all and look at them. Thanks.
