Like I mentioned before, stone needle & 5 string. Sew it up for a stitches debuff that ticks down in the span of 2-3 days. EZ.

Bone needle + 1 flax => 10 Wretched Gore to Poorly Stitched Wound
Bone Needle + 1 Silk Thread => 10 Wretched Gore to Stitched Wound
Metal Needle + 1 Flax => 10 Wretched Gore to Stitched Wound
Metal Needle + 1 Silk Thread => 10 Wretched Gore to Expertly Stitched Wound

Poor Heals slower than Stitched heals slower than Expertly

Additional wounding while healing can lead to 'ripping the stitches' and the Stitched Wound changing to the slightly less drastic "Gaping Wound"

Gaping Wounds won't heal on their own, but nor will they progress, and must be stitched closed.

Could require a boiling cauldron to do the prep, though the time it woulkd haft to be used should be short... mer minutes.
