Make berries regrow faster

Postby banok » Wed Oct 07, 2015 11:00 pm

A simple request, you shouldnt really need to read my explanation below.

Although you can use pots/tables to improve berry quality. quality is not very relevant in variance bonus foods, what is required is quantity, infact more feps is often less useful. and right now the amount of berry bushes planted you would need to supply a whole village is seemingly beyond feasible, this is because berries regrow is as I'm told based on players loading the bushes making they take decay hits. So while you could fill many fields of berry bushes on the edges of town, they would never really regrow.

So please JLo, make it so. Yours faithfully,

They should be made to bear fruit independent timer from decay hits. Beehive nearby would accelerate the timer.

You actually have to grow the bush just for the berries. It produces 4-5x the berries per day while growing compared to decay hits. So you grow a bush, strip it of berries, chop it down.

I agree this seems... a little weird from a player perspective.

Yes - Models for bushes w/wo berries.

Stockpiles? ... Sure why not.

3 - Large groupings of berries attack more bears, angry, violent, Low Q bears.

I'd rather see berries in a barrel, definitely not the first time it's been suggested.

Jorb has asked loftar for multiple models apparently, dunno why we didn't get them.

Yes, faster berries would be nicer!

I mean, we harvest barley every two days (which is supposed to be a seasonal thing). So I guess berries are born every 10 years or something in the hearthlands?

I had 8 berry bushes, and after a week only 1 of them had gotten berries back through decay hits.

The decay system is a little wonky in that only loaded maps receive it. Hence a hermit out in the middle of nowhere will have very little/no berry regen because of the implementation of the mechanic.

Yes these should be fixed, currently its faster to grow new bush instead of waiting for old one to regrow berries.
