Hair Customization

Beyond clothing there is no way to tell set yourself apart from any other jorb or jorbina.
Hair styling has been suggested, so I offer you a way to make it work, realistically and fitting into the game effectively.

Some sort of NPC (a barber or hairomancer, presumably) would be available in the little spawn area, and you would be able to choose any hair style and color you like from him before you burn yourself.
The idea is that there are three "tiers" of hair lengths: long, medium, and short; each with five or so specific styles, as well as a bald option (and facial hair for men, organized in a similar fashion: long, medium, short and clean shaven)
Once you leave the starting area, your hair begins to grow. Hair (and facial hair for men) grows one "tier" every few days, choosing a random hair style from that tier. So if you are clean-shaven and wait a few days, you might grow a very short goatee or some stubble, and a fine crew cut might soon turn into longer, flowing hair. After a few days of being a "long" style, hair and beards would grow into some shaggy variant and stay that way until you do something about it.

The first hair-care product you will most likely find is a bone comb, made with a few bone materials and some decorative stones (malachite specifically? maybe that's too hard to find). With it you can right click "Style Hair" choose a different hairstyle within your tier, so you can't change the length of your hair and, if it's already a shaggy mess you're out of luck.

Additionally, you can make scissors out of a bar of common metal, and a mirror out of a silver nugget and some glass. Combining these with your comb makes a barber kit, which can remove change your hairstyle to an equal or lower tier; you can't go straight from bald to a luscious mohawk but you can trim your hair (or beard) to a smaller size. If you want a longer style, you must wait a few days for your hair to grow randomly and then style it to your liking. Either way, your hair color cannot be changed after initial character creation.

Is this too complicated? Eh, it's HnH anyways. I'd like to see different looking characters, and sprucecaps with long, shaggy hair and beards would be funny. In this way, new characters can have nice looking hair, for a time at least, and advanced villagers aren't stuck with their brown emo-vers and burgundy ponytails.

Random thoughts:
-scissors can be used as a sharp tool, and are faster for shearing and skinning, but are unable to chop trees or mine.
-Those random berries that are inedible and useless can be used to make (temporary?) hair dyes.
-Separate shaving kit for beards
-different styles for males/females
-female facial hair???
