Boat Hitching Post

Postby DaniAngione » Fri Oct 23, 2015 2:00 am

A simple idea for people that like to leave boats on specific positions on water:

A small wooden post that works like a hitching post - should also require a rope to make it a little expensive/difficult to spam on the field. Stealing the boat leaves a scent even without a claim (pretty much like a Leanto works)

Edit:

More simple idea:
no scents or anything, just allow us to hitch a boat on a tree. To take the boat you need to chop down the tree. Annoying enough for most people to not just take boats away for the fun of it :P

The scent part would require tracking who actually owns the 'hitching post', and thereby limit it to only one boat hitch per character.

Extra claims cost 4k now and even though that's nothing much, it's a lot to protect a damn boat :P

Besides, claims are annoying, cluttering, etc...

Ok, I'll edit the OP with another suggestion then...

Then how would you get your boat back yourself? Chop down the tree? Quite a lot of work just for a boat...

Only the person that hitch it could undo it? I don't know, lol. I like the post idea better anyway.

I like it, boats could be considered valuable property to some people

That's another instance of the game having to track who hitched it, which would again be similar to the lean-to: one per character.
