A farmers hat can be argued to provide sun protection and keep a farmer cool to do their job better and longer. A thimble can protect a sewers fingers from being pricked...they are tools. A short for the sake of adding carpentry no. If you want to argue a saw should provide carpentry Ill agree with you. If you want to introduce a carpenters workbench Ill agree. If you want a lathe Ill agree. But an item just for the sake of a skill boost, no.
Yeah lets make everybody wear bearcapes and swords. With specialised gear you can customize your character for current job, just like you would do in real life, hence the skill boost

One time i visited Ozzy and i farted and he took a big vacuum cleaner and sucked the fart into a big container with an inhalation mask attached to it and i asked why would he need such thing and he said he likes to smell farts
If you want a new colored shirt I have no issue with that. If your going to enhance a skill with an item there she be some reasonable reason why it helps said skill. That is a completely fair expectation. And no i do not want ultra realism in Haven. If we had ultra realism no one would play because your time would be mostly just keeping yourself alive.
The carpentry boost of lets say 5 wouldnt really be anything gamebreaking, and we would have a alternative to neetle shirts that scrap our agi and linens that do nothin and look lame
