To avoid derails like /viewtopic.php?f=48&t=45340 here's a thread where you can post any thoughts you have on the bots.
Haven and Hearth Wiki (Maintained by volunteers - test/verify when practical. Forum thread

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong
TL:;DR: Build a Palisade with only Visitor gates.)

This have been talked a lot of times, and i'll remark what Jorb sayd in his streaming:

There is no way other than euristics to detect its use ( modified clients). I don't know why euristics aren't used then, but i guess its related with heavy coding and shit devs dont want to do. Also probably this options won't help much because, as you can see in AAA projects with millions of dollars behind, code cheaters are one step beyond security. And this happens in all the branches of security. A faraday jail its the only thing able to stop unwanted actions, and even that is breakable with social enginering.

-A solution would be, in my opinion, and as others have stated before, redoing or adding new mechanics, like some automatisms we don't have in the common client. Ender client should be the normal client, like a basic.

-Another one could be, with the current amount of players, some random "observe" among the players playing in that moment. This could be done only by the devs though, because there are mods actually playing in factions.

Bots seriously need to be executed and eliminated as a viable option, I see no reason why the oft talked about 'Captcha' solution isn't set up. It's a minor annoyance for a noted benefit.

Also -> If the Captcha was set to go off on a semi-randomized timer, one that could be mitigated by 'pre-captcha-ing' (Put something on the character screen that allows you to manually enter a captcha at a time of your choosing, to give you the best possible chances to not be captcha'd during a raid/fight/etc) then the only people that would truly suffer would be the botters.

I'd love to hear other suggestions that would be this effective at eliminating botters, but the one thing I feel 100% is that botting needs to go.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

You dont need to eliminate 100% botting. Just start telling that you dont accept bots under any circumstances and if you are caught doing it you will be raided by devs. And then raid few villages with confirmed botters.

Although I like the captcha a lot and I hate bots a lot but although I know you noted it, but if this went off in any raid situation... you would be VERY pissed. I mean extremely. I would probably request monies back honestly, not sure if it would happen but id still rage.

and if you set it up so it wouldn't pop up when your aggroed that would just get abused by like aggroing ants and botting or using 2 alts instead of one! Its a toughie.

The only way I see this working is if the Captcha pops up in the TALK WINDOW at bottom (Meaning its not in the way of your fighting etc.) and you are given say a 10 minute window with it reminding you every 2 minutes or something. to allow for you to either die or get to safety etc...

maybe even little rewards to completing a certain amount of captcha's.

Agree, I should put more attention in grammar and syntax and those things, or at least a bit. I definetely need to improve on that.
Anyway: shouldn't it be "shitty" to gain that meaning?
