Alright I'm curious. The clothing already exists. It currently has one color. Why cant you just use same clothing with different colors from the possible pigment palette? Create a tub similar to tanning. Place pigment and water in tub with desired clothing and wait. Quite similar to leather making. The color part is already there you just have to add add the new color options to the items in game don't you? Just recolor existing clothing model.

Jorb has said its doable, but the time to set that up vs what is done is to much over all. I would love it myself, suggested it a while ago as well. But its up to Jorb/Lofter to think on whats more worth there time, then adding something cute that we all love.

Maybe you could just change color on it with same you use on damaged objects? But just change color or something.
Sure it looks horrible but its better than nothing
