Barrel Rolling

Why does character carry barrel in top of his head?
It would be MUCH more efficient to roll it.
Its O shaped so it should be movable with atleast walking speed.

And roll downhill...

Character can carry bear, boat and heavy boulders.
It should be easy to roll one barrel up and down with wanted speed.

Only if the precision of placement is as exact as picking it up and placing. I dont want to have to roll a barrel then stop pick it up and place.
