Villages and Caves

So, for a village started above ground, as I understand you can extend your village's perimeter into a cave. Is it possible for the opposite to occur - wherein your village, made in a cave is extended to the surface? If not, that would behoove us dwarven builders immensely; or if we could have Charter Stones set inside and crops able to be kept inside that would prevent us from ever needing to leave our mines!

Food for thought.

Doesn't work and most likely will not happen, AFAIK.

i read (not sure where) you can build banners underground aslong as it is still under the village controlled area. but that's only a rumor for me as i haven't been able to confirm yet

i want to make a channel underground of banners then have a banner pop up at the end above ground

Pretty sure you can make banners underground, but with our idol in the cave, we wanna build a banner that extends out of the cave and up into the light! Considering Granger's insight here, we're preparing instead to build another idol above ground instead.

So, since we aren't able to extend our claim out of the cave, we've thought to make another claim outside. That said, that presents the problem that the cave dwellers won't be able to interact with the surface village and vice-versa except when partied. With how wildly inconvenient that is, what do?

A personal claim always takes precedence over village claim

Ah, my bad. Meant to say Idol, not claim.

I know, what I mean is that you would have to have a personal claim as well. Even if you aren't in the village if you have access on the personal claim you don't need to be.

Ah, that makes sense. That will work for the two of us, but when we start recruiting those new members will be limited.

In what way? Everyone can join the underground village and still have access up top as long as a personal claim covers any area of the village claim that you want to be able to use. Or you can do it the opposite way and have a personal claim covering both.
