Claim mechanics are broken

Current game mechanics regarding claims are broken, I constantly see stuff like this:

Dosn't make the world a fun place to live in.

This should be adressed, in a way that a personal claim will have its purpose for claiming personal stuff but won't work as an it's mine dog pissmark across the whole map.

Ideas: LP gained only counts toward the authority of the claim when you are actually standing on it the moment the curiosity completes? That you can't top off a claim for a month instantly, but only add a days worth of authority per curio completed? Authority drain being increased when you're not on the claim?

Bottom line: Claims should not be feasible to be used in this way, so when abused like that they should have a high upkeep cost associated and decay very quickly if not tended to.

easiest would be. claiming water has no use.
can still dig for clay, can still cross, can still get water.
but thats me.

everything else should be claimable.

No I disagree pclaims serve a very definite purpose and although they can be abused its an acceptable trade off.

Isn't this the crux of the whole "If it's not claimed, it's fair game" thing though?
Aren't claims being, as you eloquently put it, "It's mine dog pissmark" the entire point of claims?
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

how do you mean? as in they would take all from my node? or they would just be there? or what exactly?
if you mean take (dig clay) from it. thats the point. should be able to claim water surfaces.
if you mean be ON the claim. im fine with peoiple being on a claim like that. they can wait till they weigh an ounce for all i care.

Basically somone who doesnt like you just consumes node, for example digs all clay and throws it in river.
You can currently do that but it requires leaving scents. Which gives you debuff, nidbanes etc.
Vandalism scent nidbanes arent too dangerous but it still requires effort to get rid of that.
Without claims somone could dig all clay from your spot without any consequences. You wouldnt even know who it was.

im fine with this. clay recharges fast enough to not matter at all for this.

it recharges like every day. and if people wanna come by every day to empty this clay noide, more power to them. ill find a new place.
also if it isnt claimed in this manner you wouldnt know it is a good node just from boating along the river.

so they wouldnt know its a good spot that someone uses.
